Picture
This hefty-looking Bobcat, first spotted crossing New Templeton Road, then exploring along the Natty Pond shoreline, was judged by David Brown ( http://www.dbwildlife.com) to be an adult due to body thickness and lack of spotting. Extrapolating from the background to determine size, this is likely a male. Another clue: the cat was observed sniffing about and exhibiting the flehmen response, i.e. curling back its upper lip in order to facilitate the transfer of scents to its chemo-sensitive vomeronasal organ.
